I have done a good bit of editing, balancing and tweaking including new classes/races/spells/areas. Fixed so new classes could do all alignment quests. I am on break from school and actually have time to do things again and wanted to play some on my own custom board but am having issues.
A couple things Why does it constantly ask for my activation code whenever I try to do anything?
Also, I get this error when I try to run WG, C:\WGSERV\wgserver.exe - I/O ERROR OPENING AUDIT TRAIL (5)
Any ideas on what I need to do to fix this?

I would check your permissions on the folder and files inside the c:\wgserv folder.

Checked permissions for WGSERV
Any others I should check specifically?

There is a wgsaudit.adt file. This is your audit trail file. It can't write to it. "I/O ERROR OPENING AUDIT TRAIL (5)" Another issue it might be but less likely, it can't read some sort of help/config file for the audit trail.

I see the file, it says the file type is ADTS Audio which does not seem correct. It defaults to trying to open it with Windows Media Player and then gives an error saying the file is already in use. Close other programs that might be using the file, or stop playing the file, and then try again.
There is also a wgsaudit.CV_ which comes up with notepad and says ; Audit trail conversion file
Description: Audit trail data file
Developer: Galacticomm
CustomConversion: WGSADCVT.EXE

The .adt file is a text file. You can open it in notepad. But WG can't read/write to that file, is how I read that error.

This screenshot only shows permissions for the SYSTEM built-in user account. That may not what the service is running under (and definitely won’t be if you’re launching it manually). You need to also check the permissions on the other users and also look to see what user the service is running as it make sure that user has access to the folder.BlackLotus wrote: Mon Dec 18, 2023 3:33 pm Checked permissions for WGSERV
