My motivation for this mod was fueld by the sheer fact that in my 30+ years of this game, I had never actually gone through this leveling experience. I mostly play MajorMUD in spurts and on boards that reset every 6 months to a year. I usually lose interest before reaching 66, or it's on a board that provides an easier path. My goal was to allow for the experience of going through this on your own without requiring mass effort and coordination.
This mod nerfs all of the monsters and high-damage traps that you encounter in the "hard mode" method to train to level 66 and 67 (and beyond). It was tuned to be managable by an average three-character team, with the class-type specific level 66 training paths able to be soloed. With effort, the entire thing is likely soloable. However, it is still no cake walk simply due to the sheer number of annoying and high powered attacks you may enounter, resulting in random oh-shit momements.
Key Highlights:
- All monsters tuned to around 150 damage/round for bosses and around 50-100 damage/round for trash mobs.
- Experience reduced to prevent exploits. Please let me know if there is something further to adjust.
- 200 mana/per nexus ore gather reduced to 100 mana/per gather
- Traps in hedge maze and easy mode golden passage staircase reduced to 100 damage (from mostly around 400 damage).
- Tolls and cost of key for easy mode reduced (key 20 runic > 1 runic, tolls 32-36 runic > 44-48 platinum)
- Removed restrictions that prevents a character that takes the EZ mode / toll path (gaining ability 152) from then going the hard mode way.
